Kia Stands At The Top In J.D. Power’s Annual Report On Vehicle Quality

Beating out domestic and foreign brands for a second consecutive year, now is the time to be driving a Kia. The automotive industry is really picking up steam in all areas, so there’s no room for mediocrity, even for strong brands like Toyota and Lexus. Kia believes in providing the market a quality vehicle that will last. During the J.D. Power Quality testing, 100 vehicles are tested on a number of criteria. Kia had the lowest number of problems reported, earning them the No. 1 spot in their division.

Domestic Quality vs. Import Quality

When most people think of luxury, they automatically think of a foreign brand. Some that come to mind are Jaguar, Porsche, and Audi. With technology standards becoming much more mainstream and “standard” in cars, people are starting to look at performance and quality now more than ever. Automotive News reports that, “In 2017 domestic brands received a score of 93 compared to 99 for import brands”. In these terms, the lower the score, the better. Toyota brands, including Lexus had staggering numbers in the 2017 initial round-up for quality, scoring below average for the first time in history. As mentioned earlier, the brands that you think are high in quality are the luxury brands, but according to J.D. Power testing you’ll find Mazda, Land Rover, Jaguar and Fiat at the bottom of this year’s list, as they were all reported to have between 125 and 163 problems per 100 vehicles.

Quality is Up Overall

As we are a player in the worldwide automotive game, we are proud to say that overall quality is up for ALL brands in 2017.
